Second- and third-year students from Elisava Design and Engineering School conceived, designed, produced, and installed the Degree Show 21/22, featuring 230 design and engineering projects. Objective: to honour the projects and presentations of the Final Degree Project within the community. The collective versus the individual, the collaborative and the cooperative versus the superego.
Through a system of concrete blocks, the students organised their space, presented their final degree proposals as a family, and generated the exhibition hour by hour in an open area of 3000 square metres in Sant Marti, Barcelona.
In a trans studio format where all parts are the whole, some designed the experience, others the lamps indicating a presentation was taking place, others the graphic code and the communication inviting people to attend, and others the distribution in spatial arrangements (including a good bar where you can drown in coffee or beer depending on the time of day).
Witnessing students, colleagues, teachers, institutions, and companies celebrate together like a family in a lively dance has been one of the most extraordinary experiences I've ever had. Thank you all for believing in and supporting a school project where something new begins every day.
